I limited myself to 100, but went up to 115. Oops! Got to work on more writing of my own. I've taken off the extra 15 from this list so it's a neat 100. So these are my favourites, I suppose...
I’ve written about some of these in my blogs from 2020 and 2021, but particularly enjoyed the memoirs by Grace Dent and Pete Paphides, which I didn’t quite catch on their release in 2020 but loved reading this year. I love this pic below (from Wix) because it looks like me and my bookshelves, but grey rather than dark blue. I'm crazy about our re-done bookshelves, built by my Dad a few years ago and painted by our wonderful local handyman George for our little starter home...

Taking on a challenge like reading 100 books in a year is impressive and genuinely inspiring. Lists like this show how reading habits can evolve over time and how mixing genres keeps the experience fresh rather than feeling like a chore.
It’s also interesting to see how reading connects people across cultures and interests, much like the thoughtful lifestyle and culture pieces you find on the irish insider. Reflections like these remind us that books are not just about finishing pages, but about the perspectives and conversations they spark along the way.
